Marion is the youngest child in a family of five. She grew up on a farm in the Miramichi River area of New Brunswick. She has been actively involved with St. Raphael’s church, in Blackville, as a religious education teacher for thirty-two years, lector at Mass, and assisting in various other capacities.

Marion joined the CWL in 1964. She has served as President of her council four times over the forty-four years.  She has also served as President of the Saint John Diocesan council. She has served as Recording Secretary, and in most chairperson positions at the Parish and Diocesan level as well as being Education, Communication, and Spiritual Chairperson at the Provincial level.

She graduated from Blackville high school and attended Atlantic Business School. After graduation, she worked for the Federal Civil Service. Marion married Louis Fogan in 1960. They have three daughters, one son, and seven grandchildren.  Following their marriage, they moved to Baie Comeau, Quebec, and lived there for five years. Marion and her husband are presently living in Blackville, New Brunswick.

Upon assuming the office of President-Elect of the New Brunswick Provincial Council in 2010, she is looking forward to working with the many gifted women in this province who have chosen the League as their mission to serve the church in Canada.
