Margaret McCallum would like to introduce herself to her Sisters in the League.   She is a native of the Miramichi (Chatham), New Brunswick, the youngest of 10 children.   Her Mom and my Grandmother were both CWL members, and an inspiration to her.  She has lived in Woodstock, New Brunswick since 1975 and has been employed in Store Administration at Shoppers Drug Mart since 1988.   Her husband, Mike & Marg were married in 1982.   They have two children, Janet and Gregory, both of whom have business degrees and live in Toronto and Fredericton respectively.

Mike & Marg attend St. Gertrude’s Church in Woodstock.   Mike is a wonderful support to her in all her Parish work.   At present she is Finance Council Chair for St. Gertrude’s and a member of the St. Gertrude’s Parish Council of the Catholic Women’s League of Canada  She joined St. Gertrude’s Council  in 1987 and have held various offices over the past 23 years, including President, Secretary, Treasurer, Education & Health, and Christian Family Life Chairpersons.

In 1998 she joined the Saint John Diocesan Council as Regional Chairperson for Carleton County.  Since then she has served on Diocesan Council as Recording Secretary, Spiritual Development Chair, Organization Chair, Diocesan President and currently as Past President.

Now in  2010 as Diocesan Past President, she is ready to take on new challenges as Archivist.   She has long been interested in Archives and History, and look forward to this new role.    In 2010, she also accepted the challenge of Provincial Chairperson for Resolutions.    With little experience, she finds herself both overwhelmed and excited.   She firmly believes that Resolutions are extremely important to our role as social justice watchdogs.  She prays that she will be able to create some excitement and interest in Resolutions during her term.

She is thankful that her CWL journey has taken her to new adventures each year.  She is so very grateful for the many friends she has met along the way.
